STAMFORD – Police are investigating a collision that happened just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday on Glenbrook Road.

A 2009 Toyota RAV4, driven by a 40-year-old Fairfield woman was traveling north on Glenbrook Road when she struck an 8-year-old Stamford resident, who suffered rib and femur fractures, as well as lung and head injuries in the collision.

The driver wasn’t injured.

The child was taken to the Stamford Hospital Emergency Department in serious, but stable, condition and was being further evaluated.
