HARTFORD — The state is launching a new website to help fight fraud, waste and abuse in state government.

Officials say the website will make it easier for the public to report suspicious conduct.

It will also educate the public about what’s considered waste, fraud and abuse in government programs.

Connecticut residents will be able to report suspected wrongdoing in areas including tax filings, health care, anti-trust violations, unfair competition, workers compensation and more.

The website, FightFraud.ct.gov, stems from a task force created by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy in 2013 to coordinate efforts by 13 state agencies to beef up anti-government fraud efforts and ultimately recover state funds.
