HARTFORD — The Powerball fever has come to a close, for now, and some people are a lot richer this morning.

The $1,000,000 prize winning tickets were sold in Fairfield County, Hartford County and New London County. Those tickets matched the first five Powerball numbers drawn.

The winning Powerball numbers Wednesday night were 4 – 8 – 19 – 27 – 34 and Powerball 10.

Connecticut lottery outlets sold more than $50.1 million in tickets since the last winning Powerball drawing on November 7, 2015. Those sales generated approximately $21.4 million for the state’s General Fund.

In addition to the three $1,000,000 prize winning tickets sold in Connecticut, 350,626 other tickets were sold with matching numbers that are now worth anywhere from $4 to $100,000.

Winning tickets for the January 13 Powerball drawing expire on July 11, 2016.

The big winners were purchased in California, Florida and Tennessee, lottery officials said early Thursday morning.

In the end, no one person will become a billionaire, despite buying a winning ticket to the $1.6 billion drawing, since the three winners will have to share the jackpot.
