NEW YORK — Trader Joe’s has recalled a specific lot of raw cashew pieces over concerns of potential salmonella.
Trader Joe’s posted the following statement to their website Friday:
We have been alerted by our supplier of Trader Joe’s Raw Cashew Pieces (barcode number 00505154) that there is a possibility that one specific lot with the following code may be contaminated with Salmonella: “BEST BEFORE 07.17.2016TF4”
The products were distributed to grocery stores in 30 states, including Connecticut.
Trader Joe’s said they have removed the products from their shelves and continue to investigate. There have been no reports of any illnesses.
Customers who bought the product are asked to either throw it out or return it for a full refund, according to Trader Joe’s.
