RIVERSIDE, CA — A homeless man who was walking down the street shoeless, now has a some footwear thanks to a group of firefighters.

The firefighters were returning from training and saw a homeless man on the side of the road. They pulled over and caught up with the man to help out.

They didn’t have much with them but Firefighter David Gilstrap offered up his tennis shoes and another firefighter helped the man put them on and offered him some water.

The fire department shared the photos on their Facebook page last Thursday.

Hundreds of people are sharing them and applauding the firefighters for helping this man and bringing awareness to the issue of homelessness.
