Police: Woman assaulted near Keney Park in Hartford

HARTFORD – Police are on the lookout for a tan Toyota 4 door that was possibly involved in an assault on a woman near Keney Park.

On Thursday, police responded to 51 Coventry Street for a reported assault.

The victim, who is over 18, told police that she was picked up by a man she met on an online dating website. This was the first time they met in person.

The man was accompanied by another man who was seated in the back seat of his vehicle.

Once in the vehicle they drove to the area of Keney Park where they stopped.

The man in the back seat then attempted to place a plastic bag over her head.

The victim was then physically assaulted by both men. She was able to fight back and managed to flee on foot to 51 Coventry Street.

The victim was taken Hartford Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
