CHAPLIN — Three animals died after being hit by a car Wednesday night

State police said a driver was traveling north on Route 198 near Chaplin Street around 10 p.m. when they struck two horses and a pony that were loose in the road.

The animals died as a result of their injuries.

The driver suffered minor injuries.
