Stamford plow vs. train

STAMFORD — A Metro-North train collided with a snow plow after it drove onto a crossing in Stamford and got stuck.

The accident happened just after 9 a.m. Sunday at a crossing at Riverbend Drive on the New Canaan branch.

The train failed to stop in time, striking the plow.

Metro-North officials say there were no passengers on the train at the time and there were no injuries reported.

Officials say the train was not damaged.

Metro-North train service at outlying terminals in New York and Connecticut is scheduled to resume after noon.

Service was suspended Saturday afternoon as a major snowstorm hit the East Coast.
