NEW BRITAIN -- The affects of the winter storm along the east coast over the weekend created problems for Access Health CT as three of the four call centers were down, including the one in Hartford. The outage lasted about 5 hours.
The call center headquarters in Virginia experienced technical issues due to the amount of snow that area. With less than a week before the open enrollment deadline at midnight on January 31, officials urged those shopping for health care to visit one of the enrollment centers in the state or use accesshealthct.com.
Now that service is back up and running, officials expect wait times to be longer than normal.
Access Health CT is looking into adding more customer service representatives between now and the end of open enrollment at the end of the month to handle the added volume.
