Lincoln Middle School - Meriden

MERIDEN — A threat against a Tallahassee school has caused concerns in communities across the country with facilities with similar names, including one in Meriden.

Meriden police took extra precautions Tuesday morning after a threat against a Lincoln School in the capital city of Florida spread across social media.

Police officers were assigned to Lincoln Middle School in Meriden to calm any fears from the post. Authorities said there was no evidence of a threat to the Connecticut school.

The Leon County Sheriff’s Department in Florida is investigating the threat to the school there.
