MERIDEN — A cat came close to using one of its lives after nearly being plowed into a snowbank in Saturday’s storm.

The Meriden Humane Society posted the story to its Facebook page about a cat they’ve named Adalena. It seems Adalena was about to be swept up in the snow by a plow driver when she was rescued by a young woman who stopped the driver.

The Humane Society said the woman raced into the path of the plow and got the cat to safety.

Adalena is spayed, but has no microchip and the Humane Society is looking for her owner. They say Adalena is recovering a bacterial infection, but she’s eating and expected to be fine.

If you have any information about Adalena, or know where she came from, please call the Meriden Humane Society at (203) 238-3650.
