Bridgeport police arrest man with 21 guns, 85 marijuana plants, other drugs

BRIDGEPORT — A major drug and gun bust led to an arrest Saturday in Bridgeport. The bust was part of the city’s new Violent Crime Reduction Task Force.

Jack KelhofferOfficers executed a warrant on Aldine Avenue in Bridgeport and arrested Jack Kelhoffer, 30. Police said they found an elaborate marijuana growing facility in the basement of the home, which included grow tents, high intensity grow lamps, agricultural supplies and a mechanical irrigation/ exhaust system.

In total, police seized 85 marijuana plants, an additional 500 plus grams of harvested marijuana, 23 bottles of anabolic steroids, 250 tablets of human grown hormone, and 34 tablets of Xanax.

Police also found two safes holding 21 assorted hand guns and rifles and thousands of rounds assorted ammunition.

Kelhoffer is charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana over 4 ounces, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, failure to keep narcotics in original container and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
