NEW YORK–A major manhunt has ended after one suspect involved in the shooting of two New York City police officers was captured, and the second shot himself in an apartment.

The officers were shot in the Bronx at a housing project around 8 p.m. after a shootout on the seventh floor.

They were taken to Lincoln Hospital with injuries. One was wounded by a gunshot that grazed his head, and the other was shot in the leg, according to PIX 11. Neither injury is expected to be life-threatening, the NYPD wrote on its Twitter account.

There were more than 100 NYPD officers currently searching for a suspect in the area of East 156th St. immediately after the shooting, and some officers entered the housing complex 320 E. 156th St. with sledge hammers, jackhammers and automatic weapons.

In addition to the suspect in custody and the one who shot himself, several others are being questioned.
