Two-year-old found wandering in the street in Bristol; Mother arrested

BRISTOL — Police arrested a mother on risk of injury charges after her two-year-old daughter was found in the street alone.

Wednesday evening shortly after 7:15 p.m., someone called police to report a small child found wandering alone Emmett Street in the area of Pine Street. Police found the caller who who had stayed with the child. The little girl’s mother arrived while the child was being evaluated by the ambulance crew. The child was not injured and returned to the family.

The mother told police she had left the child with a friend but could not say who the friend was. Police said the child had last been in the mother’s care but could not say how the child ended up at that location about a block away from home.

Rachelle Marie Collin, 31 of Bristol was charged with risk of injury to a minor and released after posting a $25,000 bond. She she is scheduled to appear in court on February 16.
