BRIDGEPORT — A woman was arrested after her 2-year-old grandson was found wandering the streets alone Friday, .

Bridgeport officials say they received a 9-1-1 tip from a concerned neighbor driving home at about 5 p.m. Friday afternoon. The area resident spotted the child walking down the middle of the street as she turned into her driveway, near the area of 115 Brookside Avenue.

The incident occurred after heavy, wet snowfall pummeled the region earlier that day.

Police kept the child warm until the ambulance arrived to transport him to Bridgeport Hospital. As of Saturday morning, he was reported as feeling well despite the exposure to harsh winter conditions.

Lucitania Mora, 54, of 29 Brookside Avenue was contacted after investigators learned she was responsible for the boy’s care and supervision. She was placed under arrest and later charged with risk of injury to a minor.

The Bridgeport Police Department is handling the investigation. The Department of Children and Families was also notified of the incident.
