HARTFORD--The Bushnell saw some star-power on Wednesday, when a legend came to town
Ryan O'Neal, star of "Love Story," is in town with his movie co-star Ali McGraw for their play, "Love Letters," which is being performed at the Bushnell in Hartford through Valentine's Day.
But O'Neal took a break from the stage to jump into the ring.
In an effort to fill the 2,000-seat theater, O'Neal stopped by the San Juan Center for a little boxing match, and McGraw was on hand for moral support.
O'Neal, who is 74, was up against John "The Iceman" Scully, a 48-year-old trainer and former boxer. The two connected over Facebook, and the rest was history.
O'Neal put up a good fight, but after three rounds the decision just didn't go his way.
"I was robbed!" he said of his loss.
Now that the fun and games are over, it's back to the stage for O'Neal and McGraw.
