WATERBURY--For any young basketball player, the dream of one day playing in the NBA starts in the driveway or the local playground. For a select few, that dream becomes a reality.
For others, the chance to play pro ball overseas ends up being their strongest financial move. Such was the case for Crosby High School grad Anthony Ireland, who chose an international start to his pro career over opportunities in the NBA D League.
