EAST GRANBY — State police have arrested a man in connection with two separate bank robberies in East Granby. Kevin Baker, 45, of West Hartford, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of 1st degree robbery, and 2 counts of 2nd degree larceny.

Police said the first robbery happened on January 27. Baker entered the bank armed with a knife, according to police. Then, police said, he jumped over the teller counter, entered cash drawers, and took off with an undetermined amount of money. State Police detectives along with Central District Major Crimes investigated.

On February 8, another robbery occurred at the same bank. No one was hurt, and again the suspect took off with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

Troop H along with the East Granby Resident State Trooper determined both robberies were committed by the same person.

On Sunday, Feb. 14, Baker was taken into custody and transported to Troop H.

His bond is set at $700,000 and he is due in Enfield Superior Court on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
