NEW YORK–Five new drinks in less than two weeks?

Starbucks is on a roll lately. First, the coffee chain announced three new Valentine’s Day-inspired drinks:  Molten Chocolate Latte, Molten Chocolate Frappuccino Blended Beverage and Molten Hot Chocolate.

While those drinks were only available for a week leading up to the special day, a new round of drinks will be available a little longer.

On Monday, it was announced that Starbucks would introduce a Smoke Butterscotch Latte and a Teavana Citrus Green Tea Latte for a limited time only, though the exact length wasn’t announced.

The Smoke Butterscotch Latte “combines espresso with steamed milk and smoked butterscotch sauce,” and it is “finished with a sprinkling of smoky butterscotch topping.”

“The smoky flavor balances the subtle sweetness of the butterscotch,” said Christal Canzler, whose team develops new handcrafted espresso beverages for Starbucks. “It acts as a savory ingredient that enhances the coffee.”

On the other hand, the Teavana Citrus Green Tea Latte is inspired by last fall’s Matcha Basil Mint Latte. The new drink, however, is made with shade-grown, micro-ground full leaf green tea. It is combined with “steamed milk, sweetened with citrus mint syrup, and finished with lemon essence topping.”

“Starbucks Green Tea Latte has been a popular beverage in Starbucks stores ever since we introduced it nine years ago,” said Fazio. “We took flavor cues from the green tea and paired it with ingredients like mint, lemon and basil to make it a refreshing and restorative experience.”

Both drinks can be made hot or iced, or as Frappuccinos.

The drinks are inspired by the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room, which is located in Seattle.

“The Roastery is experiential,” said Amy Dilger, whose team leads beverage innovation for the Roastery. “People come from all over the world, and they are eager to try something new.”
