Man arrested for public indecency in Avon Walmart lot where Girl Scouts selling cookies

Alex GailunasAVON–On Sunday, police made an arrest in a shopping center parking lot after a man was found to be acting inappropriately in close proximity to young girls.

Around 10:16 a.m. police responded to the Walmart located at 255 West Main St. for reports that a man, later identified as Alexander Gailunas, 23, of Winsted, was inappropriately touching himself in his car.

His car was parked near the Walmart entrance, where five 10-year-old girls were selling Girl Scout cookies.

Galiunas was arrested and charged with risk of injury to a minor/impairing the morals of a minor; operating a vehicle with a suspended license; possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana; and public indecency.

He was held on $10,000 bond.
