HARTFORD — Do you love peanut butter, but missed out on National Peanut Butter Day? Fear not! Today is an even better day. We’re not just celebrating the food itself, but celebrating you, the human that makes it all possible, the peanut butter lover.

January 24 is National Peanut Butter Day, but March 1 is National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day.

Whether you like it crunchy or smooth, Americans are crazy about peanut butter. The average American eats three pounds of peanut butter each year.

Fun Fact: It takes about 540 peanuts to make a 12-ounce jar of peanut butter.

Allergic to peanut butter? You have a day too. Actually, you have a whole week. May 8-14 is Food Allergy Awareness Week.
