AGAWAM, Mass.--As voters headed to the polls this Super Tuesday, Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin expected voter turnout to be the highest for a presidential primary in the state's history.
Political analyst Bill Curry told FOX 61 all eyes were on Massachusetts in the choice for the Democratic nominee. In the end, Hillary Clinton took the win for the Democrats, and Donald Trump was the victor for the Republicans.
Massachusetts is loaded with college students, who seem to be favoring Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Curry says if Sanders loses here he could be in big trouble.
Last week, Hillary Clinton was slightly ahead of Sanders in the state. Now, a recent Suffolk University poll shows Clinton with an 8-point lead.
It's been a debate in the Conroy home in Agawam.
Jack Conroy says, "Well, there's not a great choice right now, but I voted for Sanders."
His wife chimed in, "I voted for Hillary and feel she's the best person. Yes."
Other voters at an Agawam polling place have a much different take on who the best person will be to lead our country.
Maryanne Dickmann, who has been looking forward to this day, said, "I love it. Yes I do. I'm an Independent and I'm voting for Donald Trump."
Suffolk University's poll of Republican primary voters shows Trump with a huge lead, more than doubling his closest rival, Marco Rubio.
Eleanor Cook, another local voter, said, "I think it's been very exciting. Probably the most exiting leading up to the election time that I've ever seen and it's just a big question mark where it's gonna take us."
