Hamden pickup truck fireHAMDEN–Firefighters had to respond to a car fire Friday afternoon that was right in front of an elementary school.

Around 2:30 p.m. on March 4 firefighters were able to put  out a pickup truck that was fully involved in flames in front of the Shepherd Glen School.

The car wasn’t near any other vehicles, so the fire didn’t spread, but firefighters blocked off Skiff Street so that no one would be injured while they worked.

School dismissal was delayed so that firefighters could put out the blaze, but no students were in danger.

No one was hurt by the fire, and the Hamden fire marshal is investigating the cause of it.
