NASHUA, N.H.-- A few years ago, Daytrippers tested the waters of what's known as Surf's Up, an indoor surfing attraction in Nashua. Through the marvels of modern technology one can ride an endless wave in a tropical setting, though the nearest coastline is over an hour away and it's 0 degrees outside.

"It's 85 degrees and we have palm trees, how can you go wrong?" asks Surf's Up's owner, Rob Greer.

The modified surfboards take a bit of trial and error to get up on, but after some instruction most people will find themselves gliding atop a raucous rush of white water.

"There are numerous waves we have here," Greer said, noting that the wave machine can cater to surfers of all abilities. Additionally, Surf's Up also offers what is known as the "Fish Pipe" -- a giant zorb ball that's captured in two spindles which rotates in place.

"It's like a never ending water slide," Greer said. "You can either do it together or alone and you try and run it and stay up."

After a spirited session on the medium sized wave, Wayne Penn from Nashua said, "This is a tropical oasis and it's something different that we don't have in New England."

Greer added, "It's really very unique, different, and fun."
