ORLANDO, Fla -Jalen Adams banked in a 3-pointer from beyond half court at the buzzer to send the game into a fourth overtime, and Connecticut went on to surprise Cincinnati 104-97 on Friday in the quarterfinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Huskies (22-10) moved into the semifinals against Temple. Cincinnati fell to 22-10, but still has a shot to get into the NCAA Tournament.

“That was amazing,” Adams said. “That was the best game, and the longest game.”

After the Bearcats went up 88-85 with .8 seconds left in the third OT, the Huskies inbounded the ball, Adams took a few steps and launched the ball from about 60 feet. The ball banked into the basket and the Huskies celebrated the miracle shot. Officials reviewed the call, and ruled the shot was taken before the horn sounded.

Earlier, Jaylen Bond led a balanced attack with 17 points for top-seeded Temple.

Quenton DeCosey added 14 points and Obi Enechionyia 13 points as the Owls (21-10) put five players in double figures.

Mark Williams made all three of his 3-pointers for the Owls, who were 10 of 26 behind the arc, 5 of 9 in the second half, when they were 16 of 32 from the field.

Chris Perry had 19 points for the ninth-seeded Bulls (8-25) and Jahmal McMurray had 16.

A layup by Josh Brown and a 3-point from Devin Coleman helped Temple to a 23-9 lead just past the midway point of the first half. The Owls, who have beaten the Bulls six straight times, led 35-27 at the half.

The lead reached 20 midway through the second half on another Coleman 3.
