Mariska Hargitay’s Joyful Heart Foundation and Victim Rights Center to be honored at awards dinner

HARTFORD -- Two organizations that help victims recover their sense of self a crime are being honored Friday.

The Petit Family Foundation and  Jane Doe No More are hosting the Dr. Henry C. Lee Award  dinner Friday,  March 18 in Monroe to honor Mariska Hargitay's Joyful Heart Foundation  and the Victim Rights Center.

Hartigay is the star of Law and Order: SVU

The organizations will be recognized for their work helping crime victims.

Dr. William Petit joined FOX 61 Good Day Connecticut to talk about the event on Friday, March 18 at 6 p.m. in The Waterview, Monroe, The event starts with a red carpet at 5 p.m.
