New Haven man charged with 2014 killing

Latrel RoundtreeNEW HAVEN – A New Haven man was charged on Friday in New Haven Superior Court for shooting another New Haven man to death in 2014.

Police said Latrell D. Roundtree, 20, of New Haven, shot Isaiah Conyers, 21, to death on November 18, 2014 just after 2 p.m. at 61 Warwick Street, Apt. 11, in New Haven.

Roundtree is to be charged with first-degree manslaughter, carrying a pistol without a permit, and risk of injury to a minor. Roundtree is a convicted felon currently in jail on unrelated charges but was not a convicted felon at the time of this homicide.

Roundtree’s arrest warrant is sealed by court order. His bail is $700,000.

Conyers’ family will hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon.
