Old Saybrook was home to Ms. Anna Louise James--the first female pharmacist in Connecticut--and her pharmacy. When her niece Anne Petry received her degree in pharmaceutics, it was thought that she'd take over the family pharmacy business, which her father owned. But instead she carved her own path, and became a ground-breaking author.
Now there's a documentary on the way chronicling the family, and on this week's Hidden History, photojournalist Mike Townsend sat down with Anne Petry's daughter to discuss her mother's legacy.
