UNCASVILLE - Saturday afternoon five high school basketball state titles were decided at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

In the Class M boys finals the Sacred Heart Hearts completed a historic run by winning their third straight State Title. The easily defeated the Lancers from Notre Dame Fairfield 101-49 lead by senior Mustapha Heron who had 32 points 10 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Cromwell Panthers defeated the Notre Dame Fairfield Lancers 43-20 to win the girls Class M title. The win was a little bit of redemption for seniors like Emma Belcourt, who lead all scores with 11 points, because Cromwell had lost in the finals last year.

The Class S girls final was a rematch of last seasons final between Thomaston Golden Bears who defeated the Canton Warriors. Canton exacted revenge this year by defeating the Golden Bears 64-51. Warrior Maggie Treacy lead all scores with 25 points.

The Class S boys matchup has the #11 Coginchaug Blue Devils looking to shock #1 Immaculate Mustangs. Although the game remained close to late in the fourth, the Mustangs pulled away late to win 53-43.

The final game of the night was the Class L Boys title game between the Eagles of East Catholic and the Blue Dragons of Middletown. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead and Blue Dragons needed to play catch up from there.

Middletown tried for a comeback in the second half but the Eagles would not be denied. East Catholic won 62-51.
