BETHEL - Police have identified the three people involved in Friday's shooting at 11 Governor's Lane.

While no further details are available about what led up to the shooting, the three people shot were identified as Charles Cristofalo, 76, who died in the incident, and Ahn Cristofalo, 68, and Thai Pham, 56, who were both hospitalized.

The three were shot in what appears to have been in an attempted murder-suicide, according to police.

Bethel Police responded after somebody called 911 and hung up sometime just before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, said First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker. It's not clear who made the call.

Two officers went to the home and found evidence of a domestic disturbance. Ahn Cristofalo was found in the kitchen. Police found the two men in separate bedrooms. It is not known who the shooter is nor the conditions of the two hospitalized victims but Bethel Police Chief Jeffrey Finch told the News-Times that Ahn Cristofalo is expected to survive.

Bethel Police are investigating, along with the State Police Major Crime Team. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Knickerbocker said a gun was recovered at the scene.

Police do not believe anyone in the neighborhood is in immediate danger from anyone else, but would not confirm if the shooter was one of the three victims.

A search warrant was obtained by Bethel Detectives to search the residence for evidence of criminal activity. Due to the fact that the warrant was sealed by a judge, no information about what was discovered, motives, or other information can be released until two weeks after the search.
