Bethel shooting

BETHEL–A second person has died after a triple-shooting in Bethel last week.

On Friday, March 25, three people were found shot in a home on Governor’s Lane.  Bethel Police responded after somebody called 911 and hung up sometime just before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, said First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker. It’s not clear who made the call.

Charles Cristofalo, 76, was found dead when police arrived; Thai Pham 56, and Ahn Cristofalo, 68, were both hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

At the time, police said it appeared to be a murder-suicide.

On Tuesday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to FOX 61 that Pham died from a gunshot wound to the head, and that the manner was suicide, while Charles Cristofalo died from gunshot wounds to the head and neck, and the manner was homicide.

It’s not clear what Ahn Cristofalo’s condition is, but on the day of the shooting police said she was expected to survive.

While police have not confirmed that the shooter was Pham, the information from the medical examiner indicates he was. The motive is not yet known.
