SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – A 26-year-old Connecticut man died early Thursday after he lost control of his car on Chestnut Street in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Police said speed was a factor in the single-vehicle crash.
Witnesses said he was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to masslive.com.
Police said the driver, behind the wheel of a 2016 Toyota Scion, was traveling north on Chestnut Street when for some unknown reason it veered to the left side of the road, jumped the curb, hit a signpost and crashed into a tree.
The crash remains under investigation and authorities have yet to release the victim’s name.
