DANBURY — A nanny accused of abusing a 3-year-old girl and her 1-year-old twin siblings has been offered a plea deal.
The News-Times reports Lidia Quilligana of Danbury was given six weeks on Wednesday to accept or reject the deal. Additional details weren’t made public.
The 32-year-old has pleaded not guilty to more than 20 counts of risk of injury to a minor and one count of first-degree assault.
Police say Quilligana was arrested last year after she was caught on video beating and burning a 3-year-old girl she was babysitting for a Danbury family. Authorities say she also abused the girl’s 1-year-old siblings. Prosecutors have said that she ripped hair out of the children’s heads.
Defense attorney Jennifer Tunnard says she will discuss the offer with her client.
