NEW LONDON — Traffic was tied up around 12:15 p.m. on The Gold Star Bridge for the second time Monday. The Department of Transportation said three lanes were blocked for a tractor-trailer accident in the southbound lances.

The highway reopened just before 3 p.m.

Another series of crashes closed the highway Monday morning. The bridge carries I-95 over the Thames River.

A crash in East Hartford blocked lanes for several hours in the morning near Exits 59 and 58 on the Westbound side of I-84. The road has been cleared, but delays remain.

Another crash in Manchester also caused problem for commuters near Exit 62 on I-84 Westbound.

Commuters on I-91 didn’t fare any better with accidents in Windsor on the Southbound side between Exits 38A and 37 and in Wethersfield that caused delays Northbound between Exits 24 and 25. Those accidents were cleared.

And minor accidents caused problems for commuters coming in to Hartford from the West Hartford area.
