BRIDGEPORT — Police cited dozens of college students for underage drinking Tuesday night in addition to referring the owner to the liquor commission for violations.

Police raided the Golden Star Cafe, 3915 Main St., after reports of underage drinking.

According to police, they are expecting to eventually issue about 100 infractions. Most of the violators were under-age Sacred Heart University students, police said.

The owner was referred to the State Liquor Commission for violations of state liquor law, according to police.

A sexual assault suspect arrested earlier Tuesday, allegedly met his victim at the bar on March 30 according to police.

Connecticut law prohibits anyone under 21 from possessing alcohol on any public or private property. A first violation can result in a $136 fine, and each subsequent violation can result a $200-$500 fine.
