HARTFORD — You may have recently noticed advertisements on Facebook for fast-fashion websites like ROMWE and RoseGal. These companies promise cute clothes and big discounts, but many customers are crying foul, posting hundreds of negative online reviews.

The Better Business Bureau has given both RoseGal.com and SheIn.com ‘F’ ratings. RoseGal.com, for example, has amassed 276 complaints with the BBB in the last three years.

On April 13, Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Sheldon Whitehouse, a Rhode Island Democrat, sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission asking it to crack down on these websites that use fake images that don’t represent the actual items being sold.

“We write to bring to your attention the rise of fraudulent, online apparel websites that use stolen photographs and deep discounts to lure consumers into buying products that are indeed ‘too good to be true,'” the senators wrote. “We believe these websites are engaged in unfair and deceptive practice, and urge you to use all of the tools at your disposal to take immediate action to protect consumers from inadvertently falling into the tricks and traps of these predatory websites.”

We are looking for Connecticut consumers who have ordered from a fast-fashion website and are willing to share their experience with FOX 61.

If you have ordered ROMWE, RoseGal or a similar site and had a negative experience, please contact FOX 61 reporter Katie Corrado at kcorrado@fox61.com. You can also reach out to her on Facebook at or Twitter.
