HARTFORD - It’s been a rude awakening for the new mayor. Weeks after starting his new job as Mayor of Hartford, Luke Bronin had some sobering news for the capital city. Hartford is in a financial crisis so big, he said, that if both the Police and Fire departments were shut down, the city would still be in debt. The projected shortfall is $9 million this year – and close to $50 million next fiscal year. Stan talked to Mayor Bronin about his plan to stop the bleeding and curb spending.
