MERIDEN – Police are investigating the shooting of three people at a Meriden bar overnight.

Police responded to Noiise Sports Bar on Lewis Avenue before 2 a.m. Sunday after multiple 911 callers reported shots fired. Two off-duty officers parked less than 100 yards away at the time also heard several rounds being fired.

As first-responding officers descended on to the scene, they found numerous bar goers outside and panicking after witnessing the barrage of bullets striking several victims.

Three victims, two men and a woman, were found inside the bar with serious injuries after hit by gunshots. One of the men was taken by LifeStar, while the other was taken in an ambulance to a trauma hospital. The woman sustained a single gunshot to the leg and was treated at an area hospital.

Despite how close the two responding officers were to the area, the person responsible for the shooting had already escaped.

According to Meriden Police, the precise extent of injuries is unknown. Investigators are also trying to determine how many times the two men were shot.

This is not the first shooting to take place at the 149 Lewis Avenue property in Meriden. Several years ago, when the establishment was a Mexican restaurant, an incident occurred that led to gunfire and serious injuries for one person.

The Meriden Police Detective Division is currently handling the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective John Wagner at (203) 630-6334.
