HARTFORD - Republican State Representative Dan Carter, of Bethel, announced this week that he is running for the seat in Congress currently held by Senator Richard Blumenthal. In his first TV interview, the former Air Force pilot and "Desert Storm" veteran says Senator Blumenthal has not been focused on the really important issues, including the threat of terrorism, and that he was wrong to support the nuclear agreement with Iran. Carter also explains why, even though his district includes Newtown, he voted against the new gun laws that were passed after the Sandy Hook tragedy.
