MILFORD--It was a morning like any other for Michael N. Marcus, a Milford resident. That is, until breakfast time.

Marcus decided that his 70th birthday was the perfect time to try a cup of Joe for the first time. That's right: he woke up for work every day with nary a sip of coffee! Ever!

Well, you'll be happy to know the delicacy did not disappoint.

"Wow. I've wasted most of my life!" Marcus said after his first sip of Dunkin' Donuts on Friday. "This is really good!"

He later said, "Now I understand," about how most people drinks a cup a day.

When asked what it tastes like, he said, "Well frankly, I'm at a loss for words...there's a foreign taste in there, and if you've never tasted it before you don't know how to label it. It's not broccoli--and, I don't know. I just don't know. But I'm going back for my third sip, so that's a good sign!"

The D’Andrea Group, which owns the franchise location Marcus went to in Milford, not only gave him some java, but also a doughnut cake and some balloons.

"We serve hundreds of guests every day, but it’s not every day you get to witness someone enjoying their first taste of coffee, especially a guest who is 70 years young.  We’re committed to providing outstanding guest service and we’re honored to host Mr. Marcus at our restaurant for his 70th birthday celebration and making it extra special by serving him his first cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee," said franchisee Nicole Ball.
