Local man struck and killed by train near Stratford Metro North station

STRATFORD – Metro North Police said a “trespasser” was struck and killed by a New Haven-bound Metro North train just after noon Friday near the Stratford Metro North station.

The man who was killed was 46 years old and lived in the Stratford area. The train left New York at 10:34 a.m.

The New Haven line between Bridgeport and New Haven was suspended for an hour. There were residual delays on the New Haven Line and the Waterbury branch line.

MTA police are handling the investigation.

The commuter railroad says service on its New Haven Line between New Haven and Bridgeport was suspended for about an hour while police investigated the accident, which happened just after noon on Friday.
