STORRS - The Bryant University baseball team is heading towards a Northeast Conference title and Matt Albanese is a big reason why.

After being named the NEC Rockie of the Year as a freshman, Albanese battled injuries last season, but still earned second-team all-NEC honors.

This year, the junior from East Haddam is second on Bryant with a .331 batting average, leads the team with six home runs, and is tied for the team lead for RBIs.

Now, the New York Yankees have shown some interest in the center-fielder and the former Xavier High School star spoke with FOX 61's Rich Coppola when the Bulldogs recently visited UConn.
