EASTFORD — One man died from his injuries after a crash on Route 44 near the Pomfret line Monday afternoon
State Police said the accident happened just before 3:30 p.m. Torrence Botsford, 63, of East Hampton, died of his injuries.
Police said a Toyota Corolla was traveling east on Route 44. The driver, Debra Willard, 58, of Hampden, Mass., slowed down to turn left into the driveway of 142 Pomfret Rd. At the same time the motorcycle driven by Botsford was traveling east at a high rate of speed and struck the Toyota. Botsford was thrown from his motorcycle.
He was taken to Windham Hospital where he died.
