Ohio Governor and GOP candidate John Kasich visited Glastonbury High School on Friday. He was also in Connecticut two weeks ago at Sacred Heart University, which was standing-room only event.
Trump returned to Connecticut on Saturday morning, at a public rally at Crosby High School in Waterbury then in Bridgeport at the Klein Memorial Auditorium.
Also on Saturday, Hillary Clinton campaigned in New Haven with Rep. Rosa DeLauro. She spoke about her plans to raise the minimum wage and fight for equal equality. On Sunday, shw will hold a public "get out the vote" event in Bridgeport at 2:15 p.m. It will be at the University of Bridgeport in Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium, and will be open to the public. On Sunday, Bernie Sanders will hold a rally on the New Haven Green. The park will start letting people in at 4 p.m. for the 7 p.m. event. You can RSVP here. The event will feature Michael Stipe, of the band REM. The city of New Haven says starting at 2 p.m. the following streets will be closed and parking will be prohibited:
- Temple Street - Wall Street to Chapel Street
- Elm Street – College Street to Church Street
- Church Street- Chapel Street to Elm Street
On Monday, Sanders will stop in Hartford at the Riverfront Plaza. Doors will open at 7 a.m. for the 10 a.m. event. You can RSVP here.
Previously, Republican front-runner Donald Trump appeared at a rally at the Convention Center in Hartford last Friday in front of a crowd of 7,000. Clinton held a gun violence discussion with families of Sandy Hook victims and local violence on Thursday at the Wilson-Gray YMCA in Hartford. On Wednesday, Chelsea Clinton campaigned for her mother at Dunns River, a Jamaican restaurant in Hartford's North End.
Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign has not announced any plans to visit Connecticut ahead of Tuesday's primary.
