Person struck and killed by train in Guilford

GUILFORD — A train struck and killed a person on the tracks Friday morning just before 8:30 a.m. It was Acela Express Amtrak train #2190 heading from New York to Boston.

The train struck the person in Guilford near the Branford line. There were 119 passengers on board at the time, none of whom were injured.

Shoreline East had six other trains in the area and temporarily suspended service due to the accident.

The trains were released around 10 a.m.

Both Guilford police and Amtrak police are investigating the incident.
