Police in Plainfield investigating ‘criminal incident’ between faculty member and student

PLAINFIELD — Police in Plainfield are investigating a potential “criminal incident” between a faculty member and a student.

The potential criminal incident occurred outside of the Plainfield Schools, according to statement from Chief Michael Surprenant released Friday afternoon.

Police were notified of the incident Wednesday, April 27, by Plainfield School Administration.

The Plainfield School District has placed the faculty member on leave pending the outcome of the alleged inappropriate conduct.

Police said they have no more details at this time due to the nature of the incident and the ages of those involved.
