DANIELSON–Thank you for your service Yuri.

State Police K9 Yuri passed away on Monday at the age of 11. Yuri had worked as a narcotics detective K9 as part of Troop D’s Quality of Life Task Force for seven years before he died.

Before his passing, Yuri took one last ride in the cruiser with his old handler, Sgt. Ericson on Monday morning.

“This 4-legged crime fighter will surely be missed,” Connecticut State Police wrote on its Facebook page.

Troop D is based in Danielson and covers the northeastern corner of the state.
