DAYVILLE – A dog that had been stolen from a Dayville animal shelter Saturday evening has been found safe, according to animal services officials.
Diesal the pit bull was stolen from the NECCOG Animal Services facility sometime Saturday night, when the shelter was broken into. The lock on the kennel was broken and removed, according to NECCOG, and a suspicious vehicle to be on the lookout for is a dark green Acura MDX SUV.
They said a Ballouville resident took Diesel in Saturday night from a young man who was at the fast food restaurant down the street from the shelter.
They said they’re investigating the incident.
