STRATFORD–State Police arrested a man who had an enormous amount of heroin with him.

On Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. Jose Adorno was pulled over while driving his Toyota Camry on Route 15 north in Stratford for committing a moving violation.

While speaking to Adorno, police were given a tip that there may be narcotics in the car, so an investigation ensued and a K9 team was brought it.

Eleven packages of heroin weighing about 28 pounds, or 12.65 kilograms, was found within the car. The street value for the drugs is about $1 million.

Adorno, 50, of Chicago, Illinois, was charged with possession of over 1 kilogram of heroin and possession of over 1 kilogram of heroin with intent to sell. He was held on $1 million bond and will appear in court on Wednesday.
