HARTFORD - August Wolf, Stamford investment advisor and one-time Olympian, is seeking the Republican nomination to run against U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal next year. Wolf, who has never before run for public office, was denied his party's nomination to run against the incumbent senator, but trying to force an August primary.
Representative Dan Carter won the Republican Party's nomination for the U.S. Senate.
"It feels really great," said Carter. "You come into these kinds of races and just don't know where you're gonna stand."
The Bethel Republican garnered his party's official backing just weeks after entering the race.
He easily defeated Wolf and former fashion executive Jack Orchulli.
